Welcome to the Louisiana Family Recovery Corps' new and improved website. This interactive site will allow you to more easily interact with our agency and get involved with the great work we are doing on behalf of the people of Louisiana.

Since our inception in 2005, the Recovery Corps has assisted more than 30,000 families (nearly 100,000 individuals) in Louisiana and has allocated approximately $80 million to assist our state's families in recovering from hurricanes Katrina, Rita, Gustav, and Ike. We have repaired homes, made rent and utility payments on behalf of families, provided families with new appliances, bedding, and home furnishings, and helped to rebuild community resilience across the state.

While we will continue our efforts to assist families in overcoming their housing needs, we are also focused on the future of our state. Specifically, we are working with the Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness and other state agencies to design and implement a long-term human recovery plan that will serve as a set of strategies and guidelines for long-term human recovery in Louisiana in the wake of another catastrophic event.

All of our issues are undergirded by the key values of government accountability, alignment, and transparency. We are a good government group and demand great stewardship of taxpayers' money, accessibility to services ultimately paid for by the public, and meaningful programmatic impact that provides a return on taxpayers' investment.

We are also a non-partisan policy advocacy organization which promotes the critical issues that are pertinent to our work. Our goal is to develop the right relationships and partnerships that will allow us to work with others in advancing our issues, leveraging these relationships both financially and influentially.

Finally, we are a disaster recovery organization that cares for and fights for the needs of impacted citizens, especially our most vulnerable populations. All of our programs are designed to allow us to assist the elderly, those with disabilities, and families with children.

Please take a look around the website. There are a number of great resources and a plethora of fascinating information. When you finish, please give us your feedback at feedback@recoverycorps.org. We would love to hear from you and we value your input and opinions on how we can further develop the online experience of our users and further impact the lives of our fellow citizens still struggling to recover.

Sincerely,

Dr. Monteic A. Sizer
